A - Day
Student Council will meet Tuesday, January 7th at 7:30am in Room 201.
Library Movie Poster Contest: After much debate, we have a winner... Congratulations to Asia Goodwin, winner of the library's movie poster contest!
Asia's Marley and Me poster was both eye-catching and modern, using hashtags and mixed media for a truly original piece of art!
As our top design choice, Asia wins a pair of movie passes and snacks for 2! Thanks to all of our participants - it was an incredibly tough choice! Don't forget to pick up your scratch-n-sniff bookmarks today!
Alice in Wonderland Casting Auditions will be Monday and Tuesday, January 13 and 14 in the school auditorium from 3:15-4:45.~ All students are eligible to audition for the spring play.~ Please pick up an application from the Drama Room #306 to complete and bring to auditions.~ Stage Crew applications are also available in Room #306; they must be completed and returned by Thursday, January 16.~ Please talk to Mrs. Margaret Jones if you need more information.
The 35th Annual, Student Council Sponsored Can-Can Food Drive will start Wednesday, January 8th and culminate with the Can-Can Activity Night Friday, January 17th. Rules and prizes will be announced after break. Please start saving and collecting non-perishable food items (canned or packaged) and personal care items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and lotion. Our goal will be to collect more than 1,000 items to help those in need.
This meeting will be short and right to the point. Hope to see you there.
The2nd STOMP Social will be the afternoon of January 10! Students who qualify will receive an invitation to enjoy and afternoon music, video games, open gym, crafts, and social time. In order to qualify students must:
- have C’s or above in ALL classes for the first semester
- be in class 80% of the time for the 1st semester
- and have received no more than 3 minors and NO majors 2nd quarter.
Science Olympiad, competitive science enrichment activities, will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in Mrs. Hurt’s room (room 303). Students meet and work on their chosen events 3:25 – 5 each Tuesday and Thursday through February 21. The regional competition is on February 22nd in Wichita. Eight graders that successfully participate will receive portfolio points for the third quarter and possibly fourth quarter if they qualify for the State competition.
Come to the last G.S.A meeting for the semester! On Thursday Dec. 12, we will be having a meeting with some special treats! Come and also invite your friends! We hope to see you there! We will not be having G.S.A on Thursday Dec. 19

Visit the Holiday Shop at LHS in the Cafeteria on Saturday the 14th from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Smart Strength Session 1 of Smart Strength is not over. It will end December 19. Please attend the last few sessions with us. The 2nd session will start after winter break.
If you want to participate in the 2nd session of Smart Strength, please see Mrs. Souders, room 308.
You must have a contract signed by your parent on file with Mrs. Souders. If you already participated and want to participate in the 2nd session, please go by room 308 to let her know.
The 2nd session will begin on January 7.

Have you volunteered your time in our community in the last year? Help us recognize you for your time and participation! The President Volunteer Service Award is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic participation on behalf of the President of the United States to recognize the best in the American spirit, and to encourage all Americans to improve their communities through volunteer service, and civic participation. Forms can be found in your agenda or in the main office. Service hours need to be turned in to the office by December 6th to be recognized for this school year. See Miss Laura for more information.

MATH COUNTS CLUB!
Liberty Memorial Central Middle School is happy to announce the start of Math Counts Club!!
Who: All LMCMS students who love math and want more!
What: A club for the math enthusiast! Students will participate in variety of fun and challenging math activities and learn creative problem solving and higher level thinking skills with friends!

Chess Club will meet Tuesday's after school for an hour in Mrs. Jones's room, room 212. Everyone is welcome. If you do not know how to play, an experienced student or Mrs. Jones can teach you. So come have a snack, exercise your brain, and learn a great game!!
Interested in what's going on? Interested in writing? Newspaper Club will meet in room 211 on Tuesdays. Come on by and see what's up. All grades welcome.
Garden Club will meet in room 303 after school until 5:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays starting August 20! Come hang out with friends, eat a FREE snack, and play in the garden with us!
Save your Hy-vee Receipts
Hy-vee -- Dollars for Scholars
Hy-Vee will pay us $1.00 for every $150 collected. Mrs. Prosser's Advisory class will collect the receipts and prepare them in rolls to take to Hy-Vee. Tell your parents, aunts, uncles, anyone who shops at Hy-vee to save the receipt and give it to you. Yoru can give them to your advisory teacher.
Do you need extra help with homework or a quiet place to work or study after school?
Meets in the library Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m.

Snack is served
Students wanting to participate must be in the library by 3:25 p.m. They will sign in and be able to sign out and leave whenever they have completed their work. Once they have left for the day, they will not be able to come back in the library.
Yearbooks are for sale for $25 until October 31. Please see Ms. Martin to purchase one. She also has Central history books for sale for $20.
