Communities in Schools
Communities in Schools is a national program that connects students and their families to local resources. Cornelius Bell is the LMCMS coordinator. To find out more about the program, please see the attached letter.
Students’ grades can be accessed online. Once a parent or guardian turns in a verification form, they will receive their username and password via email. Read the school district page for more information. Please contact Mary Lou Almanza, LMCMS Registrar, for assistance with Skyward at 785-330-1421.

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming! Conferences are scheduled October 23rd & 24th; see the October Newsletter for more information. Be prepared and be heard with your students teachers with these tips for a successful conference.
Parents! The Parents Group is providing sandwiches for teachers' dinner during conferences Thursday, October 23. Parents are asked to help provide sides of chips, salads, veggies, fruits, and deserts. Contributions can be dropped off in the main office before 3:00 on Thursday. Thanks, Parents' Group.
The last day of Fall gardening is Tuesday, October 21! Thanks for a great growing season everyone!

Next week will be Spirit Week.
Monday the 20th will be Decade Day so dress in those 60's, 70's and 80's clothes.
Tuesday the 21st will be Mustang Spirit Day so wear red, black or your Central Stomp shirt and come cheer on your Mustang football team at their game after school. All fans will receive a free treat for attending.
Wednesday the 22nd will be Crazy Hair Day so style it up an bring on the crazy hair if you dare.

Does your family shop at HyVee? Save the receipt!
Bring your receipts to your advisory teacher.
Help out the school. For every receipt you bring in HyVee makes a donation to the school.
Mrs. Prosser’s advisory class will collect the receipts on Thursdays.

DID YOU KNOW…a brain fed a healthy diet of BOOKS is the best weapon against zombies?
Protect yourself by reading as many books as possible during October!
Pick up your reading log in the library, fill it out and return by FRIDAY, October 31st!
The student that logs the most books receives a FREE BOOK of their choice (up to $20) and a spot on the new BOOKWORM WALL! The runner up will receive a ZOMBIE POSTER of their choice! ALL students who log at least 2 books wins a creepy bookmark!

Math Counts will meet on Thursday this week in Ms. Reaver's room! Come and join us as we engineer amazing things from everyday materials and leap challenging math problems in a single bound? Snacks are provided.
Come to the computer lab in room 206 if you need a place to study or finish homework. Teachers are available to help you complete your schoolwork or get organized. Homework Zone is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15. Snack is provided.
Are you interested in architecture, engineering, or design? Then come to Future City, a club and contest for students interested in designing and building their own city 150 years in the future. Future City Club will meet on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Heath’s room 404. Open to all LMCMS students, snacks provided.
Do you like to argue? Come to Debate Club, where we learn and practice tactics of effective argumentation and debate. Debate Club will meet on Mondays from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Heath’s room 404. Open to all LMCMS students, snacks provided.
GSA will meet on Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 in room 111 (Ms. Olden’s room). All students are welcome to attend.
